Fontana East & Fontana West
Homes for Sale

Breaking ground in 1960, Fontana West completed construction in 1963. Neighboring Fontana East started slightly later and was completed in 1965. There are about 270 residences in total, with about 135 in each stock cooperative building at 1000 North Point Street & 1050 North Point St. in the Russian Hill neighborhood of San Francisco.

Although many people think it’s in the Marina or the North Waterfront neighborhood because of it’s waterfront location, it is located in the Russian Hill district.

The buildings do not have reciprocal amenities and are separately managed by the Fontana East Apartment Corporation & Fontana West Apartment Corporation, respectively. Home sizes at The Fontana East & The Fontana West include studios, one-bedroom homes, and two-bedroom homes with a few three or four-bedroom homes.

Building amenities at Fontana West include a club room, heated outdoor pool with BBQ area, attended/secure lobby,  Zen garden, and laundry facilities on each floor.

Building amenities at Fontana East include a club room, attended/secure lobby, garden area with BBQ, and shared laundry facilities on each floor.

The reaction to the construction of these two buildings on the waterfront of San Francisco changed the course of housing affordability in San Francisco, and our blog post has more details.
