    More About the Building

Starting with two brick-and-timber warehouses that were originally built in 1906, the developers of the Esprit Park condo project combined old and new to create 142 condominiums in the Dogpatch/Central Waterfront neighborhood of San Francisco.

What started as the Schilling Wine Cellars and later became the headquarters of the Esprit de Corp clothing company was converted to a condo community just over one hundred years later, with the first sales in the building closing in late 2008.

The portions of Esprit Park that were originally part of the warehouse buildings contain brick and timber details. There are over 25 different floor plans in the project, with homes ranging in size from about 800 square feet (one bedroom) up to nearly 3,000 square feet (three bedrooms). The development also contains 5,500 square feet of office space, an 800-square-foot fitness center, and an underground parking garage.

Not to be confused with the Esprit Park condominium community is dog-friendly Esprit Park, a park just north of the development between Indiana and Minnesota @ 19th Street.

The former owners of Esprit de Corp — Susie Tompkins Buell and her former husband Doug Tompkins — owned this nearly 2-acre plot of land, tore down some buildings, turned it into a park and later donated it to the city of San Francisco. Now known as Esprit Park in honor of their donation, the park is great for dogs, kids, and families. It’s a neighborhood gathering point and often a hub of activity, not to mention a beautiful oasis of green in an urban setting.
