Ingleside
Homes for Sale

Ingleside is a lot more down-to-earth than some of its swankier neighbors on the north end of town, and it’s also a lot more affordable. Homes tend to be modest, some in the same family for generations. Unexpected views of downtown add to the attraction of this more-affordable neighborhood, which also has great public transit options and easy freeway access.

Ingleside Neighborhood Vibe

Ocean Avenue is the heart of this old-school San Francisco neighborhood. You’ll find dive bars, coffee shops, lots of mom-and-pop restaurants, and stores that wouldn’t be caught dead being called boutiques. It’s a down-to-earth place where old-timers tell tales to the newbies at the local watering hole, and because it’s San Francisco, yes, there’s a Whole Foods Market.

Popular Ingleside Home Styles

Properties in Ingleside tend to be single-family homes on lots that are 25′ wide. While the neighborhood name for Ingleside doesn’t suggest it, some homes have great views of downtown and the San Francisco Bay. You’ll find an eclectic collection of homes, and there are also smaller condo buildings in the neighborhood, although they are the exception to the single-family rule.

Getting Around in Ingleside

Balboa Park BART and Muni light rail stations are within a short walking distance of the neighborhood. In addition, Muni buses and light-rail run along Ocean Ave., giving you numerous options to get to downtown San Francisco. If your commute takes you to the South Bay (Silicon Valley), you’ll find I-280 is just moments away.
