The summer in San Francisco is full of great festivals and street fairs. No matter what you love, you’ll find an event you can enjoy this summer. From street festivals to neighborhood and cultural celebrations there’s so much going on every summer in San Francisco.
SF Jazz Fest – June 6th to 18th
A two-week festival with plenty of great jazz performances, the SF Jazz Fest is right around the corner. Performances will be held at the SF Jazz Center in Hayes Valley and other area performing arts centers.
North Beach Festival – June 17th & 18th
A huge festival in the North Beach neighborhood, this event will run from 10am to 6pm both days. More than 125 arts and crafts booths will be on hand, along with 20 gourmet food booths. There will be three stages with live entertainment, children’s activities and an Italian street painting and beverage garden. Admission to this event is FREE!
Fillmore Jazz Festival – July 1st & 2nd
Held in the Pacific Heights neighborhood, this is one of the largest free jazz festivals on the entire west coast. IT will go from 10am to 6pm both days and hundreds of booths will be on hand with all kinds of full and fun.
Breastfest Beer Festival – July 15th
A huge beer festival with the goal of raising money for low-income women with breast cancer, the Breastfest Beer Festival will features over 35 breweries from all over the world. Some of the breweries will be local options and the event will be held at the Marin Center in San Rafael.
Outside Lands Festival – August 11th to 13th
A massive outdoor music festival, the Outside Lands Festival will be held on the west half of Golden Gate Park. It will annoy Sunset neighborhood residents and feature all types of gourmet food, art on display, plenty of wine and so much more.
Fringe Festival – September 8th to 23rd
A two-week grassroots theater festival, the Fringe Festival will feature performances at 156 Eddy Street, the location for the Exit Theaterplex. More than 35 groups will take the stage with 150 shows.
Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival – September 9th & 10th
If you love chocolate, this is certainly the event for you. Sample chocolates and wine throughout the event and even learn from the top chefs in San Francisco. An ice cream eating contest will also be a part of the event, along with a silent auction to support Project Open Hand.
