This morning I was running along the bay when I happened across this lovely lady taking in the sights at Aquatic Park.
For those of you that don’t feel like squinting, the mermaid is signed by Scott B. Dosch, firstname.lastname@example.org.
I have to say I’m rather jealous of his artistic capabilities, I could barely get the sand out of a plastic bucket before it had collapsed upon itself in a crumbling heap.
Sand sculptures like this mermaid are a great example of the quirky, unexpected, and hard to describe benefits of living in San Francisco. Oh sure, we have our share of issues. What city doesn’t?
I’ve lived from coast to coast, and this is the only city where I’ve headed out for a routine morning jog to be greeted by something so completely unexpected that it makes me stop running (if you know me well, you know how rare that is), circle back, take a picture, and then carry on running with a smile on my face.
And come on, she a starfish to keep her company. I mean, how awesome is that?!
