There’s a great article in today’s New York Times about living in your house when it’s on the market. Especially for people with kids, who have to make toys, high chairs and strollers disappear before open houses and showings, it can be a challenge to keep your house looking perfect. We can be thankful that in the SF market, very few showings occur on short notice, so we don’t have to deal with brokers and clients showing up while a seller is in the shower, as happened to a homeowner quoted in the article.
We’ve worked with lots of sellers who have lived through it. It might not be fun, but in many ways it’s easier than moving to a rental or buying first and selling second!
