We’ve been in a seller’s market for so long in San Francisco that many people — even some buyers included — are having a bit of difficulty going through the mind-shift to a more balanced market. In Carol Lloyd’s Surreal Estate column on SFGate.com today, she talks about sellers being the last ones to get the message that, ahem, things have changed a bit since the days of zillion-dollar overbids.
Some basics for sellers to consider when you’re selling your place: Move out if you can. If you can’t, grit your teeth, stage the property, and realize that you’ll be living in a catalog photo spread for the coming weeks. Paint. Declutter. Clean the litter box. Declutter again. Put everything away before each open house or showing. Repeat until property sells.
Have a great Labor Day weekend!
